The scholarship programme and committee was established in 1999 and has continued to select excellent students from the community in Uzbekistan since its inception. TIS offers six 100% tuition-free, merit- and need-based scholarships to Uzbek nationals from local schools in grades 10, 11 and 12. The award of this scholarship is based on academic excellence, financial need, satisfactory ability in written and spoken English, attitude and personality, extracurricular activities and interests, and potential mutual benefit to the school and to the student.
Terms, conditions and procedures
Full-tuition scholarships are available for students who
• will complete the equivalent of Grade 9 or 10 by June 2010
• would be financially unable to attend TIS if the 100% scholarship were not available
• earn 4’s and 5’s in their local schools
• are proficient in English and possess strong reading, writing and analysis skills
• are prepared to study at TIS until graduation and will graduate before the age of twenty
• successfully complete the screening and interview process

• Courses that will greatly enhance the likelihood of acceptance to prestigious U.S. and European Universities. TIS graduates are presently attending, Harvard College, Brown University, Pomona College, Columbia University, University of Pennsylvania, and many other universities in the U.S., Canada and Europe.
