Is there a deadline for application?

Yes. This deadline is April 1 of each school year—although the school practices a policy of rolling admissions from that date until the grade level is full, at which time a waiting list comes into operation.Parents of currently enrolled students must state their intention for the student to return by April 1 of the current school year.

Siblings of students already enrolled in the school will be given priority for admission if they have completed the application process prior to April 1.

Applicants for the current school year who apply after April 1 may be admitted for the remainder of the school year only if there is space already available for the following school year. They may be admitted during the present school year if it is understood that there is no guarantee for a place in the following school year.


Do we need to come to TIS for an interview?

As part of the admission process we like to meet with each student before being admitted to TIS. We will be happy to arrange a visit and tour of the school. Can you accept children with learning disabilities?
We can accept some students with Individualized Education Plans (modified programs) and with some Special Needs. In such cases, the school administration and faculty will work with the family to find and identify a full or part time local learning support aid and/ or tutors and develop a modified program of instruction if needed. Such applicants are assessed on a case by case basis and we will only grant admission if we feel that the educational and social needs of the student can be met by our school. The campus does have disabled access. In any cases of doubt, please contact the school before your submit the application or make a final bid on a posting to Tashkent with your sponsoring organization. Please be advised that English speaking educational psychologists, speech therapists and physiotherapists are not generally available for consultation in Tashkent.

Do you accept students during the school year?
Yes. We have families enter the school throughout the school year, the majority in January/February. The regular application process will be followed and students will be enrolled if space in the class is available on a first come first served basis.

Can I reserve a space for my child for a second semester entry in January?
We cannot guarantee that there will be spaces available at that point, given the high demand. Please submit your application to the school office and submit all paperwork as far in advance of your posting to Tashkent as you are able.

How can I pay the application fees?
Tashkent International School cannot, by law, accept any payments on the territory of Uzbekistan. We do not accept cash payments. As such, all payments are made off-shore to the school’s parent company, Tashkent International School Limited (TIS Ltd.) which is registered as a not-for-profit foundation (501c3) in the State of Delaware in the United States. TIS Ltd. in Delaware can accept checks in US dollars, or via a wire transfer of funds to the following account:
