GRADING SYSTEM AND EQUIVALENCIES USING IB 1-7 SCALE
The TIS assessment system follows established IB criteria. Equivalency with the USA grading system is based on consultation with the IB and other leading
international schools.

• The TIS mean exam result grade 2008-9 is 4.99 while the IB World mean grade for all subjects in 2008 was 4.69.
• TIS IB Diploma students earned an average of 32 IB Points while the mean IB World score is about 30.
• 59% of TIS students have earned bilingual diplomas in English with Russian, Korean or German compared to 31% in the IB worldwide.

Graduation Requirement
Graduation requirements – 24 credits, 4 credits in each of the following subjects: English, Math , Social Studies, Science, World Languages, Electives.

Testing
The Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test (PSAT) and ACT are administered to students in grades 10-11. Juniors and Seniors sit for the Scholastic Aptitude Tests (SAT I: Reasoning Test and SAT II: Subject Tests). Test of English as Foreign Language (TOEFL) Examinations are available to students in grades 11 and 12. The International School Assessment Tests (ISA) are administered to grades 3 through 9. International Baccalaureate examinations are held in May.
