ANNOUNCING THE TIS PRODUCTION
Of Stephen Sondheim’s Award Winning Musical

Please forward this to all your friends and colleagues in Tashkent
“Once Upon a Time…in a faraway kingdom…lived a young maiden (Cinderella)…a sad young lad (Jack - of the beanstalk variety)…and a childless Baker; all with wishes more important than life.
Follow these characters on their journey “into the woods” where they cross paths with Little Red Ridinghood, a certain Wolf, an envious Witch, Rapunzel, a wicked Stepmother, Prince Charming, and an ensemble of other familiar fairy tale characters. Join us as we explore the meaning of “After” in “Happily Ever After” and discover the difference between the stories we tell our children and the stories we experience as we journey “into the woods”.
“Into the Woods” is an award winning musical with music and lyrics by Steven Sondheim and book by James Lapine. It debuted in San Diego at the Old Globe Theatre in 1986, and premiered on Broadway in 1987 where it won several Tony Awards, including Best Score, Best Book, and Best Actress in a Musical.
The first Act lasts a little over an hour. There will be a 15 minute intermission followed by a very short Act II. Please make sure that all cell phones are turned off during the performance and photography of any kind is not allowed during the performance. We will make photographs and video available before the December break.
“Into the woods! Into the woods! Into the woods! Then out of the woods, and home before dark!”
