TIS Scholarship

I would like to thank everyone who contributed to the TIS Scholarship Fund and attended the Gala this weekend. Since the 1998-1999 school year, 68 Uzbek students have graduated through the Grade 10 Scholarship Program. This is central to our purpose of Making a Positive Difference! Many have gone on to successful careers abroad and in Uzbekistan, as you can see from this short video.

TIS community members can still contribute to the fund that supports our Grade 6 and Grade 10 scholarships. All proceeds go to covering school trips, university application fees, placement exams, and their first flight to university. Help TIS provide an Opportunity of a Lifetime to students by making a donation online in the link here or scan the QR code to donate

Annual School Climate Survey

Tashkent International School is honored to invite you to complete our annual School Climate Survey. The purpose of this survey is to provide an opportunity for families to share their experiences and give suggestions on how we can improve the learning experience at TIS. We will use the information in this survey in our yearly published profile reports and to help guide the strategic direction of our school improvement initiatives. There are 12 questions to this survey and it should take approximately 10 minutes to complete. Your answers will remain anonymous and a summary of the results will be shared with the community. Individual comments will remain confidential. Please complete this survey by 17 February 2023. The link is here

Increased Security Presence

TIS students make connections with other international schools in Central Asia through athletics. With the Central Asia Basketball Classic “CABC” starting tomorrow you might notice increased security and police presence surrounding the school. Please be patient as we will have an increase in traffic with many visitors around campus. You will find more information about CABC below in the TIS Athletic Director, Walid Berrahal’s newsletter section.

Hamburg Girls Choir Visit

TIS students and music faculty are connecting with the Hamburg (Germany) Girls’ Choir during their visit to the State Conservatory of Uzbekistan March 4-7, 2023. The world-famous choir travels extensively all over the world. They will be holding workshops with our elementary and secondary music students on Monday, March 6, 2023. There will be a lunchtime concert on that day that parents are invited to attend. Our students are also invited to participate in the workshop and attend the free concert at the Conservatory on Saturday, March 4th, 2023. This is a unique learning opportunity for our students and we are proud to host the choir at the school.

Grade 10 Personal Project

As part of MYP curriculum, Grade 10 students are required to create a Personal Project. This is a report based on a product they have researched and then created themselves. Grade 10 students will exhibit the products at school at the end of this week.
