Dear DP Students and Families,

Welcome to the IB Diploma Programme (IBDP) at Tashkent International School!

However, at TIS, this programme is further enriched by giving students the opportunity to Challenge, Explore and Connect both within the IBDP framework, and beyond the walls of the classroom, through engagement with our community and our natural environment. Below are some examples of how we do this

TIS DP Students are CHALLENGEd…
We set ambitious goals, act on feedback and build resilience.

• We hire experienced DP teachers who take a conceptual approach to teaching and help students build skills and knowledge through frequent and actionable feedback.
• We distribute assessments through both years of study to ensure an appropriate level of challenge, with two mock-exam sessions over two years.
• Through our Creativity, Activity and Service program, we encourage students challenge themselves to try new things as a means of challenging themselves, while also seeking balance and mental health and wellbeing. Whether it’s trying a new sport, leading a service project, taking part in theatre or music productions. 

TIS DP Students EXPLORE:
We follow our curiosity, empowered by  voice and choice.

• We are an IB for all school, where all students have the opportunity to engage in an IB education through either a  Diploma or Courses route of study
• We offer a very wide selection of courses and a well-rounded course selection programme for a DP cohort of ~90 students so students can meet their post-secondary goals at the appropriate level of challeng, while pursuing their passions. 
• We meet students’ individual needs through a strong Student Support Services team, including social-emotional and post-secondary counselling and learning support services. 
• Our DP students learn important research skills, including the use of Artificial Intelligence to be able to explore and synthesize learning using a variety of sources critically and ethically. 
• Our DP students have opportunities to explore beautiful natural landscapes within Uzbekistan and beyond through our outdoor adventure programme and international trips programme. 

TIS DP Students CONNECT:
We work with our communities and transfer learning within and beyond the classroom.

• Our DP Students are the leaders of co-curricular activities, clubs and service projects, mentoring younger students and gaining valuable planning and leadership skills along the way.
• We use a cohort model approach to guiding our Extended Essay programme so students can connect and work with other teachers and students in similar subject areas to enhance their research and writing process.
• We utilize the expertise from all staff to enrich our Theory of Knowledge programme, whereby subject teachers are engaged in
• Our Collaborative Sciences Project invites community engagement and gives students the opportunity to come up with innovative solutions to local and global issues through the lens of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

The Diploma Programme at Tashkent International School is designed to equip students with the academic skills needed for university study, further education, and their chosen profession. But more important than developing good students, our goal is to develop the whole person who can navigate the complexities of the 21st century and live a fulfilled and purposeful life, all the while making a difference
